There are many reasons why young people drink alcohol Alcohol is the most commonly used drug in the UK and Isle of Man. Most teenagers will experiment with it, and at some point they might drink too much. This can affect them in many ways but there are things you can do to help. Drinking alcohol at an early age is linked to health problems in later life and if habitual may lead to difficulties socially.
HOW MUCH IS IN A DRINK? The recommended amount of alcohol for adults is:
UNIT Can of normal strength beer, lager or cider (440ml) 2 ALCOHOL AND
THE LAW Police can confiscate alcohol from under 18’s if they’re drinking in a public place.
TIPS Make sure they have accurate information about alcohol WHEN YOU'RE
